Hey everybody...happy new year and millenium to all.
First off, a very extra large GET WELL SOON to our dear friend Kelly Countermine. Kell is a gifted singer-songwriter/ guitarist friend and honorary Stone Poet and who continues to inspire those around her and save the poets’ collective asses in times of need. She has been sitting in singing and playing guitar with us for a while now and we all hope she will be doing that again very soon.
We here at Woobie Cat Records have been working on a new web site with the help of our service provider Centre Of Web and especially our good friend Terry Beard at www.kriskehr.com. It should be up and running very soon, so keep an eye out.... lots more mp3’s, real audio, streaming video and other stuff to look at, as well as information and REGULAR SCHEDULE UPDATES!
We are also going to be reviving the e-mail update with thanks to another of our good friends Beth Balmat...if you read this and would like to be on the e-mail update list, please mail me a request at kriskehr@csrlink.net.

Kris Kehr and STONE POETS will perform a set at this years' Millenium Music Conference Showcase at the Gingerbreadman on Main Street in Mechanicsburg, Pa on Saturday, February 17 at 11 pm.
On Sunday, February 18th Bill Stetz will join Kris at Webster's Bookstore Cafe at 128 South Allen Street in State cOllege as part of their singer-songwriter series. Show time is 730pm, and you can BRING YOUR OWN!
Kris Kehr & Stone Poets will be featured on WVIA-FM's "Homegrown Music" on Tuesday the 20th with a re-broadcast of their 1999 in-studio performance at 9 pm.
Kris and Bill will be back at Daniel’s in the Bush House on wednesday, February 21st, as well as the 28th. Daniel's is located at 315 West High Street in Bellefonte, Pa. showtime is 10 pm
Kris returns to Philadelphia on friday the 23rd at the Mermaid Inn located on the corner of Germantown Avenue & Mermaid Lane in the Chestnut Hill area of Philadelphia, Pa. Showtime is 930pm and the phone at the bar is 215-247-9797.
Kris and Bill will perform at ZENO's on saturday, February 24th from 5 to 7pm as part of their "singer-songwriter series". That's located on the corner of College and Allen in State College, Pa.

Here it is! We here at Woobie Cat have been working hard (especially Rev. James and Terry Beard) to bring you the new website…Lots of new stuff, including a whole new bunch of mp3's and video, although all that's not up quite yet…please take the time to sign in to the guestbook and leave your 2 cents…
Work is continuing on the new album, tentatively titled "Lucky 13"…mixing begins in April.
On a very sad note, we lost a dear friend and incredible performer this week. Tonya Browne, aka "Queen Bee" died from complications of diabetes…she sat in many times with Stone Poets electrifying the room with her presence and vocal prowess. She left a powerful impression on anyone who met her, but for me she helped me through quite a few tough times with her caring and wisdom and friendship, and went out of her way to do so. She was there when I needed her on more than one occasion. Our lives here in the State College music community will never be the same.

Hello everybody and happy spring to y'all…
I've been performing as a side-man with singer-songwriter Kelly Countermine in preparation for recording her first CD of original songs for Woobie Cat. She's an honest writer who pours it all out, both lyrically and vocally… plus I get to be the multi-instrumentalist! 6 & 12 string acoustic guitars, mandolin, slide resonator guitar and harmonica compliment Kelly's powerful singing and strong rhythm guitar playing… look for this duo at Daniel's in the Bush House (Bellefonte) Saturday, May 12th and Zeno's (State College) on Saturday, May 19th at 7 pm as part of Zeno's Singer-Songwriter series.
You can also catch Kelly singing harmony with Stone Poets live wherever we're playing plus on the upcoming release "Lucky 13"
Speaking of which, mixing has begun on Stone Poet's next release "Lucky 13"… look for a mid-summer release.
The Poets will play at this year's Mifflin-Juniata Arts Festival held at Lewistown Recreational Park in Lewistown, Pa. on Sunday, May 20th… we go on at 1pm and play a one hour set. Stone Poets are also back at The Crowbar headlining on Thursday, May 24th… look for more of those through the summer…

Work is finishing up on the new CD, entitled "Kris Kehr & Stone Poets" - 9 tracks, approximately 45 minutes long… look for a late July release..

Stone Poets will be back at the Crowbar Tuesday, June 19th with acappella group DaVinci's Notebook... show time is around 10pm… Stone Poets will also be doing a special "acoustic" performance as part of Zeno's "Singer-Songwriter Series" on Saturday, June 23rd and July 21st - both are EARLY shows and start at 7pm..
Poets "proper" will perform a long show at Zeno's on Saturday, June 30th… 10:30 pm…

Hello again!
Stone Poets will be back at the Crowbar Thursday, August 2th and Thursday, August 16th…as far as we know there is no opening act and the show should start around 10pm…
Stone Poets will be performing as a "full band" at the Phyrst in State College on Friday, August 3rd, not "acoustic" as previously indicated..
The "Acoustic Trio" (Kris, JK and Kelly Countermine) will be taking a week off from their usual Wednesday spot at Daniel's in the Bush House on August 8th…they will continue to play all other Wednesdays…
The Stone Poets performance at Split Rock Lodge on Lake Harmony on Saturday, August 11th will be at 4 pm, not 10:30 as previously noted…the gig lasts until 8 pm and is likely to be outside on the lake, weather permitting….other-wise, inside on stage in the lodge…
AND, the new CD, "Kris Kehr & Stone Poets" went off to press and will be available through the band mid-august, hopefully by the set at the Crowbar on the 16th…BUT, an official CD release party is slated for Zeno's in State College on Saturday, September 8th…10:30 pm…more info to come….
Stone Poets will play as part of the Barney Cats' Music Festival to benefit the Tonya Brown Fund at the State College Woman's Resource Center on Saturday August 25…Poet's set will happen at 8:30, plus after-ward Kris and JK will sit in with Stone Poets newest member Kelly Countermine on a set of her original compostions…

i saw a guy knock his rear-view mirror off of his maroon SUV on br549's tough Old No.7 Jack Daniel's tour bus outside Crowbar before soundcheck… they came out thinking something exploded or something… they have some of the coolest eye and footwear anywhere… besides the hit and run, what a heart-felt night…
the Acoustic Trio will still be out at Daniel's in the Bush House on November 14th and the 28th… all through December, too… we'll miss you Scott. PLUS, we'll be at the Mermaid Inn in the chestnut hill area of Philadelphia on Friday the 7th … Stone poets will be playing Murray's in Wilkes-Barre on Friday the 16th of November… I hear the foods' good…
in December, I'll be part of a 'round robin' songwriter show in the theater on the Penn State Campus Altoona… 730 pm… Also, i'll be sitting in with my old pals the Redd I. Thanksgiving night Stone Poets will share the bill (and the JK) with our rock-a-billy buddies Mike Swavely and the Chrome-Magnatones at the Crowbar in State College. The Swave will go on somewhere around 10 pm, and we'll be after.
The Acoustic Trio (KK, Kelly and JK from Stone Poets) has pull up it's tent stakes and moved our weekly show to ZENO's every Thursday at 7 PM, Starting November 27th. Count on some friends sitting in from time-to-time...
The Trio will make it's Philadelphia area debut at The Mermaid Inn on December 7th.

Stone Poets would like to thank all the DJs and programmers both here and abroad for giving the new disc "Kris Kehr and Stone Poets" a spin... two tracks, "Jig's Jig" and "Movin' On" seem to be getting the most amount of airplay and we're all very happy about THAT!
