Thursday, April 16, 2009   —  MCR at Del Fest, Solo at EMILY's and more....

the Manatawny Creek Ramblers are proud top announce we've been included in the band competition at Del Fest this year. We'll be doing a 15 minute spot with 7 other bands on either Friday, May 22nd or Saturday, May 23rd. On Sunday the 24th we'll most likely perform a half-hour exhibition set on the Campground Stage at noon.

Before that MCR will be at the Blinkin Lincoln in Manayunk, PA with Mason Porter Thursday, May 7th at 9PM.

the Manatawny Creek Ramblers recently made an appearance on local BCTV show called Talking Trash
WATCH IT HERE

Here is a track called 21.mp3 from the new MCR EP called
Meet Me By The Moonlight due out later this spring...stay tuned for news on that...

Saturday, April 25th at 4PM I'll be with my good pal and mighty upright bassist Bill Stetz at Reading Phillies' Stadium. Here is a recording of me and Bill doing Elizabeth Cotten's Babe, It Ain't No Lie.mp3 at the effervescent Balmat Botanical Gardens back in 2003.

At 6PM that same night I'm back with the mighty Youngers for Brewphoria at the Canal Street Pub in Reading, PA. I don't have any recordings of myself with the band yet, but we're working on that but until then, check out their new album Heritage (co-produced with John Carter Cash) a louder album (for them) and indicative of their kind of loose, loud electric music that's so much fun to jam with. I'll also be with the Youngers on Friday, May 8th at Johnny & Hons/Robesonia, PA at 9PM and the Symposium Resaurant/Lancaster, PA for a half-hour set on Monday, May 11th. On Wednesday, May 20th the Youngers will open for Wayne Hancock at the Chameleon Club/Lancaster, PA

I'll be playing this coming (AND EVERY) Sunday, April 26th at Zeno's Pub/State College, PA from 9 to 12 with STONE POETS Rev. James, John Kennedy and Dr. Dave Mudgett. I'll be back May 3rd, 10th, 17th etc. with a varying line-up.

On
Saturday, MAY 9th STONE POETS will be out at Reading Phillies' Stadium after the game at around 10PM, doing about 90 minutes with the full 5-piece version of the band with Matt Cullen on drums and the rest of the guys.

Bucket's Got A Hole> Mountain Top Blues.mp3 was recorded 12/15/07 at Otto's Brew Pub/State College, PA with the 5-piece line-up. The full band has a few other gigs on the horizon this summer including the Elk Creek Cafe, Bullfrog Brewery and the Jammin' For the Animals Festival at Blue Falls Grove outside Leesport, PA on Saturday, July 25th, which will include guest drummer Daniel Bower from
the Manatawny Creek Ramblers and Frog Holler plus a jam set with old friends/a great blues band called the Mark Furman Band from Philley. I'll have more on that stuff later on.

There's been a slight change in the new Emily's schedule, just to let you know...instead of the 22nd, I'll begin playing every other Wednesday from 6 to 9PM starting Wednesday, April 29th in the bar (while Julie's bartending...she sits in from time to time...)
Wednesday, May 13th & 27th I'll be back at Emily's in the bar (or out on the deck if it's nice) from 6 to 9 PM. I'll be at Emily's every other Wednesday through the summer...

the Manata
wny Creek Ramblers will take it to the road in May, playing Kimballs/Williamsport, PA on Friday, May 15th and then the Wellsville Creative Arts Center/Wellsville, NY on Saturday the 16th.

Below is the full schedule at this point....
