Here’s a little reminder that this coming Friday, April 25 is the last time you can catch Kris Kehr and Julie Edlow, playing two sets at BIXLER’s LODGE in Stoney Creek Mills, PA from 10 til 1, as it's Kris and Julie Kehr from here on out after May 31st!

Bill Stetz and I will be back at PORTER'S PUB in Easton, PA again this Saturday, April 26th from 10 til 1, no cover.

Saturday, May 3rd I'll be doing a solo acoustic show at a new venue (for me) called Ludwigs Inn and Oyster Bar in Glemore,PA at the crossroads of Rts 401 and 100, south of Pottsville. That's an early one, from 8 to 11 PM.

STONE POETS get back into action with two full shows in early May, first at ZENO's in State College on Thursday, May 8th at 10:30 PM. The other one is an live online concert from the studios of Homegrownradionj.com on Rt. 94 in Blairstown, NJ. There is limited seating if you want to be there, but as of now there is still room. return an e-mail to me if you want to reserve a seat. You can listen HERE.

For the past few weeks I've been getting together with The Manatawny Creek Ramblers, or rather Daniel Bower (guitar), Randy Krater (upright bass) and Michael Beaky (banjo) with my mandolin on Wednesdays outside of Oley at Moonlight Forest Studios to pick, and it's been so good that I'm gonna stick with them boys. It's a great pool of mostly traditional bluegrass with some originals and even a little Grisman thrown in there, and everyone takes turns singing lead with allot of three and four-part harmonies. Daniel also plays drums in Frog Holler and Randy plays bass in the Youngers. Michael and I used to play together in a band called PAVLOV'S DAWGS in the early 90's. The three have been playing together as MCR for years now and have collected a nice song list and a healthy following and have graciously welcomed and asked me to make music with them, which I will. We've started collecting and arranging the piss out of a bunch of various songs with an ear towards recording an album when we get there but before that, we play at The Heritage House in Morgantown, PA on Saturday, May 17th from 10 til 1.

MAY 23 - The Manatawny Creek Ramblers/Crab Barn Reading,PA - TBA I'll let you know...

alright, thanks guys....

Friday, March 14, 2008   —  MARCH-APRIL-MAY

Hey Everybody...

This coming weekend, Saturday March 15th, Julie Edlow and I return to our favorite local watering hole BIXLERS LODGE /1456 Friedensburg Rd/Reading, PA for two sets of acoustic music...good food and vibes, no cover and we play from 10PM to around 1 in the morning....

Next weekend , Saturday March 22nd I return to PORTER'S PUB/700 Northampton Street/Easton, PA with upright bassist/old muckity-muck Bill Stetz. Bill and I will do two acoustic sets from 10PM t o 1AM with no cover.

Bill and I will be back at
PORTER'S April 26th at 10PM.

On Thursday, May 8th, the 5-piece KRIS KEHR & STONE POETS will host an 'After-Earle' party
at Zeno's/State College, PA at 10:30PM. Steve Earle is performing earlier that night down the street at The State Theater at 8PM.

Two days later on Saturday, May 10th
KRIS KEHR & STONE POETS will perform two sets in the studios of HomeGrownRadioNJ /1077A Route 94/Blairstown, NJ that will be broadcast LIVE at 8PM. There will be about 20 or 30 seats available if you want to be in the audience - just e-mail your request to contact@homegrownradionj.com for directions and confirmation.

In other news...

You can watch a newly posted video of me and Julie playing in Delaware last summer, thanks to Roadtrippin' Bill Wright HERE.

Artist Sean Poole painted THIS portrait of me during my performance at The Brass Lantern opening for Cabinet
on 2/23/08...I love Sean's stuff (and not just because of his choices in subjects) and I also had a great time listening to and sitting in with Cabinet - check 'em out, a solid up-and-coming original bluegrass band from NE Pennsylvania.

We're gearing up to release NOTES FROM THE CROSSROADS (or at least a single to be determined) onto the AMERICANA radio market in the US sometime this spring, hopefully Europe later. The album is available HERE and at CDBaby. You can also download
singles or the entire album as MP3s format HERE at PayPlay.

You can also get the new album HERE on itunes or find a copy of the out-of-print second album HERE.

Thanks!
Kris

Howdy...

This coming weekend I'll get to open up for a great up-and-coming band out of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area called Cabinet at The Brass Lantern. I've been listening to a few Cabinet shows that local music enthusiast Jelly burned for me (thanks) and I must say, they got something great going on- a little bit like Railroad Earth but a voice all their own- great songwriting, musicianship and energy. I'll be doing an hour before their set, starting at around 9 PM but will also most likely be sitting in with them later on. Cabinet goes on around 10:30PM.

I hate to say it, but because of the recent financial crap hole everything seems to be plummeting into, all Wednesday and Thursday shows have been cut at the Brass, which means no more regular Wednesdays for me. A big thanks to all those who supported those shows, especially you, DL- really dude, thanks for always being there and bringing a bunch of folks out every time. SJ too....
I will be doing more openers there though, and STONE POETS will be in there on more Saturdays and JEQ will also likely rear it's head.

Next weekend, Saturday March 1st the 5-piece KRIS KEHR & STONE POETS return to Zeno's in State College, PA....show time is 10 :30PM

below is the lowdown on info....
