I hope everybody’s making it through this sorry excuse for a winter…and staying warm & dry, for the most part. I’ve been busy…here’s the upcoming schedule through to Spring- be sure to look for links to new live concert downloads from Pavlov’s Dawgs and Stone Poets, as well as my recent solo acoustic venture to the Northeast.
I hope everybody had a great end-of-the-year blow-out and are resting comfortably…
Lots of good musical stuff happening in the near and somewhat-less-near future, starting with this weekend.
-Friday, January 6th I’ll be solo acoustic at the Hitching Post in the bar just north of the Reading, PA Airport on Rt. 183 from 8 to 11, no cover.
-Saturday the 7th I’ll be breaking out a new electric/acoustic blues project with bassist Ray Hoffman and drummer Matt Cullen at Bixler’s Lodge in Mt. Penn, starting around 9PM, no cover. No name for the project yet and we’re still looking for that 4th member, guitar or keys, but power trio ahead we will…. The setlist includes a few original bluesier tunes mixed in with some jammier groove-based covers.
-Sunday is the first rehearsals for the upcoming Pavlov’s Dawgs reunion shows, starting March 31st with a huge show at Godfrey Daniels in Bethlehem, PA and a set at the spring Pinnacle Jam in Kempton, PA on May 19th.
-There will also be a Garcia Grass set in Kempton that weekend, fingers crossed.
-Next week I record a new Homegrown Radio segment with radio personality/producer George Graham at WVIA Studios, broadcast date tba.
-Friday the 20th – I return solo acoustic to Manley’s in Johnson City, NY 9PM, no cover
-Saturday the 21st – I’ll be at The Eagles Mere Inn in Sullivan County playing solo acoustic in the bar.
-There are a few new Black Mountain Underground podcasts available for free download. Look for a few new ones made especially for our friends at RadioScranton.com in the coming weeks as well. Listen to back episodes every Monday at 10am on HomegrownRadioNJ.com.
Just letting you all know I’ll be out at the Hitching Post tonight doing a solo acoustic show, Friday December 9th, starting at 8PM….located north of the Reading Airport on 183 – no cover.
The monthly bluegrass jam at Stonersville Hotel has been moved tot he SECOND Tuesday this month – Tuesday, December 13th we’ll be picking, starting at 8PM – next month back to the normal, jamming on January 3rd.
Be sure to check in to my music blog called Black Mountain Underground for some new shows available. Be sure to check in to our friends at RadioScranton.com for the re-broadcast for two BMU episodes produced exclusively for them – I’ll eventually be posting them for download.
I’ll be recording a new Homegrown Segment for George Graham and WVIA-FM in the New Year with a set of new songs, I’ll keep you informed on the broadcast date.
There are plans afoot for some kind of Pavlov’s Dawgs reunion at Godfrey’s in the New Year, most likely March 31st, although it will be a review of past line-ups so I’ll have limited stage time; I’ll keep you posted.
I sincerely hope everybody has a great Holiday Season with lots of warmth, friends & family! -kris
Tuesday, November 1st – Next week we’ll have our second Bluegrass Jam at the Stonersville Hotel in Birdsboro, PA (on Route 562). Held every first Tuesday, this one is on November 1st and starts at 8PM, no cover. Karin usually has some food and drink specials going. All levels are welcome, whether you want to pick some leads or just strum along, we’ll keep things as smooth and fun as possible for all.
Friday, November 11th – Solo at the Hitching Post (on 183 just North of Reading, PA) at 8PM, no cover.
Thursday, November 17th – Solo to the Tranquil Bar Bistro in Binghamton, NY – 9PM
This week on Tuesday, October 4th I’ll be doing something new, hosting a Bluegrass Jam at theStonersville Hotel. It will be somewhat informal, not an open mic but a song circle where more simpler players can jam along with more experienced ones who want to take leads, taking turns round-robin style. I’ll try to anchor things with guitar and songs and we’ll see where it goes from there. Festivities start at 8PM although the hotels’ doors open at 6PM with a limited pub menu and $4 Stouts Oktoberfest Pints. Hopefully we can continue this every first Tuesday of the Month.
Also this week I’ll be back at Building 24 in Reading, PA with banjoist Joel Henry on Thursday, October at 8:30PM, no cover.
Friday, October 7th I’ll be doing a solo show at Stout’s Brewery in Adamstown, PA 7:30 to 10:30
