Thoughts On Summer…

September 4th, 2005

Hey Everybody…

Finally got the blogger thing going here which will make it infinately easier to post more often…thanks, Rev

There are also some new downloadable videos in the “MUSIC” page…some from Phil Stahl’s cable show in Allentown and some from one of the Balmat Family’s wonderful house parties thanks to Jeff Saltzman…

It’s been quite a summer…alot of heavy traveling early on as LOWdOGS; opened for Railroad Earth and John Cowan at the wonderful Riverstreet Jazz Cafe; a few breakdowns and a decision to come off the road; a new job (actually a continuation of the old one); they blew Hunter S. Thompson’s ashes several hundred feet into the air; an earthquake (Duck…Cover…Hold); Vassar died; a monster hurricane hits the gulf coast; gas prices whizzed right by the 3 dollar mark as a result; a coupla new regular local solo gigs…plus I found out my yard is a praying mantis breeding ground….kinda like that ‘Blood Orchid’ movie but without so much human carnage…woobie considers them his friends..

I’m sure there’s more….the best part of all of that was all the great friends I’ve been able to hang out with during that time…and that continues…

Yes, right now I’m playing outside every other saturday in Black Mountain at a new joint called East Market…the next one is September 17th….it’s one of the most comfortable ‘bar’ gigs I’ve ever had and I suggest you stop in if you can…the food is great and the beer selection is beyond reproach…stop in even if I’m not playing…the phone there is 828-669-6770…no website yet but I’ll link you up soon as they get one…

I’ve been writing a bunch and work continues on the new solo album…keep checking in HERE for more abundant updates and what-nots…

also, my weekly internet radio show “Black Mountain Underground” is on Mondays at noon…look for upcoming two-parters featuring Van Morrisons’ new album ‘Magic Time’ (I play each cut from the new album with material from various points in his carrer between) and a tribute to Dr. Hunter S. Thompson and his classic work “Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas”…WAY too much fun….then stay tuned for the Mudbone Show…

thanks!
