PAVLOV’S DAWGS/Kris and Michael Beaky used to be in this band way before The Manatawny Creek Ramblers, from roughly 1989-93. After Kris replaced original bassist Tom Walz and joined Michael and guitarist Jesse Grim, they had two mandolin players (Rich Bernardin, Dave Fry) and released two albums, Live At Godfrey’s & Smells Like Bluegrass (both out-of-print). Below are a few tracks from each as well as a few other favorites. Look for Pavlov’s Dawgs podcast coming soon

Live at Godfrey’s -
Jammin’ – This was Michael’s re-imagining of the Bob Marley classic and it got us almost as much attention as ‘Psycho Killer’
Thirsty in the Rainearly Kris vocal on the Peter Rowan classic
Nuthin’ On YouKris singing an early Michael composition

Smells Like Bluegrass -
It’s Mighty Dark to Travel – the Bill Monroe standard Kris currently sings for MCR.

You Make Me Sailone of Kris’ first songs
Build Me A Riveranother early one, still performed
